Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - September 14, 2011 - Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by offering $5 off general admission to all patrons who visit the Zoo on Sunday, September 18, 2011. Special guests Son7, Connecticut's premier salsa band, will be performing from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Peacock Pavilion, and there will be booths where visitors can learn about all the other events scheduled during this regional celebration. Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15, pays tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. In case of rain, the event will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011.

Spend the day at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo visiting all the new animals the Zoo has welcomed including piglets, alligators, bald eagles, snowy owls, and a rare ocelot kitten. Visitors can grab a bite at the Peacock Café, eat in the Picnic Grove, and enjoy a ride on the Zoo's colorful carousel.

Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo is closer than you think and is open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Adult admission (ages 12 & older) is $12.00, children (ages 3 -11) and senior admission (62 and older) is just $10.00, and children under 3 years old are free. Zoo members also are admitted free.
