Inspire your scouts to learn about nature, animals and stewardship as they take part in badge earning activities, come to the Zoo for an up-close animal encounter or bring the Zoo to your next meeting.

Badge programs:  Bring your scout troop to the zoo for a fun-filled day of activities, animals, scavenger hunts and self-guided tours as they earn their badges.

*Available 7 days a week from 9am to 2pm
*Maximum group size 20 scouts
*$80 plus group rate admission fee ($8 per person) for up to 10 scouts (1 hour)
*$120 plus group rate admission fee ($8 per person) for 11 to 20 scouts (1½ hour)
*1 free adult chaperone for every 5 scouts
*Early dismissal school days are a great time for scouts to visit

Animal Encounters: Spark your scouts’ interest in animals and nature with our Animal Encounter program.  Your scouts will enjoy this hands-on learning experience held in one of our Zoo’s classrooms.  Please click on your scouts grade range for a complete list and description of all of our exciting Animal Encounter program topics.

*30 minute program length
*Maximum class size 40 (scouts, siblings, parents and chaperones)
*Each presentation is $80 plus Zoo group rate admission fee ($8 per person)

Scout Meetings:  Invite the Zoo to your next scout get together.  Our auditorium program is the perfect compliment for your large scout gatherings.  Choose from Wildlife Tracks and Signs, Connecticut Critters, or Amazing Animal Adaptations.

*45 minute to one hour program length
*Maximum group size of 500 people
*Troop must provide PA system
*$300 for groups up to 300 people, $400 for groups up to 400 people, $500 for groups up to 500 people
*Pre-payment is required to confirm your program
*Mileage fee: $30 outside a 15 mile driving distance, $50 outside a 35 mile distance and $75 outside a 55 mile distance
