Teacher’s Guides to the Zoo
|
 Our educators have created two useful guides for making your zoo visit even more educational.
One is aimed at pre-school age to third grade children and includes:
Zoo history, zoo signs, zoo etiquette, name tag ideas, zoo map, basic animal classifications, coloring sheets, pre and post-visit activities, scavenger hunts, and a useful bibliography of great nature resources. It is 35 pages.
Our guide for older students includes:
Zoo history, zoo signs, zoo etiquette, animal fact sheets, rainforest facts, farmyard facts, conservation organization list, scavenger hunts, classroom activities, and a useful glossary of nature terms. It is 48 pages.
You can purchase the guides for $6.00 each plus $3.95 postage from the Education Department. You can also arrange to pick them up at our Front Gate through the Education Department. Soon you will be able to download the guides on the website.
