Peacock Pavilion & Picnic Grove

The Peacock Pavilion is an award-winning stage nestled in the Zoo’s Picnic Grove. The unique gull-wing design of the stage, combined with the grove’s natural bowl-shaped landscape, create a wonderful site for the Zoo’s many special programs such as ethnic dance festivals, magic performances, Connecticut Free Shakespeare’s productions and, of course, animal presentations.

Musical performers that have graced the Peacock Pavilion include John Gorka, Patty Larkin, Tom Paxton, Annie & the Natural Wonder Band and many others.

Surrounding the Pavilion are 80 picnic tables for public use. This area is a prime area for peacock watching!
