Physical Description: The Arizona Blonde Tarantula grows 3-5 inches in length and has a tan carapace and legs, and a brown abdomen.
Habitat: They live in deserts, particularly those with a saguaro dominated flora community.
Range: They are found in the southwest United States of America in Arizona and New Mexico and northwest Mexico.
Diet: They eat assorted insects which they ensnare in web at their burrows entrance.
Lifespan: Males live 5 to 10 years on average and females 24 to 30 years.
Social Structure: They are solitary animals. Female have palpal bulbs which can store sperm until they lay their eggs (~600 offspring).
