Fairy Tails Day turns the Zoo into a magical land, with a day full of fun activities, including princesses, story time at multiple locations on grounds, face painting, performances and animal presentations! The day of fun and fantasy is sponsored by the Connecticut Children's Pediatric Alliance with Hartford HealthCare.

Fairy Tails Day will feature…
Meet & Greet Storytime Princesses and Heroes: Children can meet and take photos with their beloved story book characters!
Come meet Elsa & Anna at the Peacock Pavilion, Deadpool and Wolverine by our newly renovated Prairie Dog habitat, Princess Jasmine by our Greenhouse, and Superman near Read to Grow's on site Bookmobile! Characters arrive at 10am and will be on site until 2pm!
Face Painting & Glitter Tattoos: Located by the Greenhouse. Add a touch of magic with face painting and glitter tattoos from 10am to 2pm!.
The Read to Grow Bookmobile: Located by the big cow, the Bookmobile will be passing out free books in over a dozen different languages from 10am to 2pm!
Story time and coloring: Located inside the Kathy Brady Education Center. Zoo volunteers will be on site during the day to read stories to Zoo guests and hand out coloring pages.
Bookmobile and costumed storybook characters will be on Zoo grounds from 10am until 2pm. Children are welcome to dress as their favorite storybook character and let the magic unfold. The day of fun and fantasy is sponsored by the Pediatric Care Alliance between Connecticut Children’s and Hartford HealthCare and in partnership with Read to Grow, a non-profit organization dedicated to early childhood literacy.
