Physical Description: The Mexican Flame Leg Tarantula grows 5-6 inches in length and gets its name from the bright orange carapace and legs. They have a black abdomen and the ends of their legs are black as well.
Habitat: They live in scrubland where they burrow under logs and rocks.
Range: They live in southern Mexico.
Diet: They eat assorted insects.
Lifespan: Males live 8 years while females may live up to 20 years.
Social Structure: They are relatively solitary organisms. The female carries an egg sac that hatches 3-4 weeks before the rainy season.
