Dear friends, For some time, plans have been in the works to launch a Zoo blog. In addition to all the ways we speak to you as a non-profit, Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA)-accredited member facility, we want to share more in-depth stories from time to time. So, in addition to our monthly e-newsletters and social media accounts, we’re adding a new feature to our website. Beginning next week, you’ll find what I’ve named The Hidden Zoo: stories about our animals, interviews with our Animal Care Professionals, background on how the Zoo feeds and cares for our many endangered species, and information on conservation in Connecticut and beyond. In addition to written content, we’ll be adding great photos and occasional videos to show you more of the Zoo stories from behind-the-scenes.
We’re much more than just a place to see beautiful and unusual animals. We’re an active animal welfare organization with a passionate four-pronged mission: conservation, education, research, and a fabulous guest experience for you. We hope you enjoy learning more about the important work we do in our community and in the world. There will be space for you to comment below our blog posts. We want to hear from you, too! I look forward to sharing my adventures as Zoo Director, with additional input from the talented staff members who have dedicated their careers and their lives to animal care. I hope you’ll join us in The Hidden Zoo! Gregg Dancho Zoo Director

Hi Gregg! I have shared the "live feeds" and this new blog opportunity with my staff in California who have kids at home and are looking for educational opportunities. For many of them, biology and science are a challenge (math would be my nemesis). And they are grateful for the opportunity to use the zoo's great sessions.
