Bridgeport, CT, November 22, 2021- This year, the Zoo is pairing up with Oliver’s Pajama Project to bring pajamas to underserved communities throughout the state as well as offering three fun weekends of Holiday Happenings. Oliver Koenig-Paquin is a young boy whose dream is to make sure every boy and girl has a pair of new pajamas to keep them warm and cozy at night. Throughout the holiday season, the Zoo will be collecting pajamas at the front gate: all ages and sizes needed!

Harry the Guinea Hog Piglet Wins by a Whisker

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. –November 19, 2021–-The election to decide Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo’s next mayor was neck and neck between Harry the Guinea Hog Piglet and Clara the Bison, but at the tail end of the day on November 18, Harry pulled ahead by a whisker. All votes were counted, and Harry the Guinea Hog Piglet was declared the Mayor of the Zoo this morning. The Farmyard resident thanked his supporters and promised to be a mayor for all the animals.

Zooper Pacs Lining Up to Support Their Favorites

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. –November 4, 2021–-Five animal candidates are vying for the much sought-after title of Mayor of Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo. This important election will decide the Zoo’s second Mayor, the highest-ranking animal official who will showcase the important role of animal ambassadors. Last year’s winner, Wiggles the Chinchilla, died in office, and runner-up Kallisto the Amur leopard is completing Wiggles’ term.
