![]() Bridgeport, CT – Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is thrilled to announce the launch of its Summer 2024 Calendar, packed with exciting events and educational programs from June through September. As temperatures rise, the Zoo becomes the perfect family getaway with an array of activities designed to engage all ages in wildlife conservation and fun. June June 1: Kick off the month with Wild Wine Beer & Food Safari. This adult-only evening features local breweries and delicious cuisine amidst our wildlife exhibits. Sample tastings from dozens of restaurants, caterers, wine & beer. Listen to live music, taste a Malbec with our monkeys, or sip a pilsner with our prairie dogs. The Wild Wine, Beer, and Food Safari is one of the Zoo’s largest fundraisers, that benefits the care of endangered species, expansion of our exhibits, and educational programming. Community Corner offers a unique opportunity for local small businesses, crafters, and artists to connect with a broader audience by showcasing their products every weekend from 10am to 3pm, from April until October. Community Corner is designed to bring the vibrant spirit of farmer's markets and vendor fairs to the heart of the zoo, providing a pop-up shop space available for rent. This initiative not only supports local businesses but also enhances the zoo experience, offering guests a chance to explore and purchase unique products in a charming farmstand setting. ![]() Bridgeport, CT – This April, Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is calling on the community to join in celebrating Earth Day through its annual “Party for the Planet.” A series of engaging and educational activities are planned and designed to celebrate and inspire conservation action and appreciation for our planet’s incredible biodiversity. Kicking off the Party on Saturday, April 20, at 9 am, the zoo will host an array of green-themed activities for all ages. In collaboration with the AZA SAFE program and students from One River School of Art & Design, an Art Sculpture Show will feature stunning sculptures of endangered animals created from recycled materials. Additionally, visitors can get hands-on at the DIY seed ball table and create custom seed balls to take home for their own pollinator gardens, contributing to local ecosystem support. |
